Your Must Reads For The Week Why the establishment really fears Ron Paul  By Jack Hunter Blogger for "Paulitical Ticker. As Ron Paul has risen in the polls, so has the frequency of attacks against him. “Any stick will do to beat a dog” goes the old saying, and the whacks against Paul range from reasonable to ridiculous. Expect the attacks to continue. Expect them to get more ridiculous. And expect the worst attacks to come from Republicans.Read more at, http://dailycaller.com/2011/12/27/why-the-establishment-really-fears-ron-paul/#ixzz1i6WXP68s
Why Do GOP Bosses Fear Ron Paul? John Nichols on December 21, 2011 -
Ron Paul represents the ideology that Republican insiders most fear: conservatism. Not the corrupt, inside-the-beltway construct that goes by that name, but actual conservatism.
And if he wins the Iowa Republican Caucus vote on January 3—a real, though far from certain, prospect—the party bosses will have to do everything in their power to prevent Paul from reasserting the values of the “old-right” Republicans who once stood, steadily and without apology, in opposition to wars of whim and assaults on individual liberty.
Make no mistake, the party bosses are horrified at the notion that a genuine conservative might grab the Iowa headlines from the false prophets. Already, they are claiming a Paul win won’t mean anything. Please read the FULL ARTICLE at http://www.thenation.com/blog/165290/why-do-gop-bosses-fear-ron-paul
I would like to invite, encourage, entice, influence, pressure, persuade, cajole, coax, plead, request can I demand? Or would a threat of bodily harm move you to read both FULL ARTICLES links above. This is NECESSARY INFORNATION, making it a MUST READ. GET THE FACTS CONTAINED IMPRINTED ON YOUR MIND. THEN YOU WILL UNDERSTAND AND BE READY TO PRESENT COGENT INFORMATION ABOUT WHY THEY MUST UNDERMINE RON PAUL. READ THE FULL ARTICLE and then FORWARD IT TO EVERYONE ON YOUR E-MAILLIST.
From FreedomFrank, of the Campaign for Liberty, The time is now. Your knowledge bank is filled with reason for Republicans (and Democrats alike) to support Ron Paul for President in 2012. You are prepared to help Ron Paul on many fronts. You can make phone calls. Your friends and relatives are just waiting for studied reasons to support Ron Paul. Equip yourself with answers to, “I like Ron Paul, but he can’t win.” Ask your friends and relatives, why has the mantra, “Anybody but Obama” morphed overnight into “Anybody but Paul?” Why are they afraid of Paul if he can’t win?
Large groups of sign waves convey an important message to a much, much large group of passers by. You be a part of those groups make them so large that they require the Police to help contain them. A police presents just draws more attention.
Nothing is more effective than precinct Neighborhood Walking. Grab a hand full of literature and go “walking and knocking” with a brief message like, “I thought you may want to know what concerned candidates like Ron Paul think about… (whatever the pamphlet covers. It is good to be topical here.) Paulistas do not be afraid of this activity, even the worst case, where they say, “I am not interested in that political crap.” You have made progress. You have shown that concerned neighbors support Ron Paul. Those very people might say to their friends, “You know that Ron Paul guy has some good ideas.”
And after a sign waving event, or some “walking and knocking” come home get yourself a cup of your favorite beverage and turn on your computer get your keyboard in your lap prop up your feet and blog away. The attacks on Ron Paul the last two weeks are deafening and we can flood their “Comment” section with the truth about Ron Paul. Make your message short mention Ron Paul as often as you well can.
In effect you will have tapped into their reader base with a short reasoned support for Ron Paul. We understand Liberty, and must not hold back. I recommend you counter all Ron Paul attacks at: http://octeapartyblog.com/.
PersonalViews By Chuck McGlawn
We have observed the “I hate President Obama” go from a trickle to Niagara Falls. Then grow into almost a Cottage Industry. Frankly, we wondered why. Republicans out of power were able to prevent him from really accomplishing anything. He got the Health bill passed, But I do not think it will ever be implemented. It will be stopped by the Court of repealed by a R and D coalition.
Bush on the other hand, started two wars, passed Patriot Act one and two. Homeland Security, TSA, Military Commissions Act, No Child Left Behind, doubled the budget of the Dept. of Education, Corporate Bailouts etc, etc, etc.
But Obama’s inability to actually do anything didn’t stop the haters. As a publisher of a Libertarian/Conservative Views Letter I would get the e-mails from everyone. We would receive as many as 40 per day, with 5 to 10 copies of the very same message. Like ripples in a lake the repeats were many at first then dwindle down to fewer and fewer then none. But they never die. Four months later here it would come again, sometimes coupled with another newer message.
Even the passage of the NDAA, the most Liberty destroying legislation did not increase the “I hate President Obama” e-mails. That could be because it was almost a Rep. program.
That was way too much of an introduction to my point. That being the same tactic is being used on Ron Paul. It is as if the dinner bell rang and everyone came to the “Anybody but Ron Paul” table. Republicans, Conservatives, Democrats (some of them were already at the table, but many moved from the “Anyone but a Republican” table. And they are all banging the knives and forks in a “Get Ron Paul rant.”
Some of the surprise attendees at the table is the entire crew ay KRLA “Intelligent Conservative Radio” 870 on your LA/OC radio dial. They include, (I have not listened to them all) Glenn Beck, 6 to 9am, Dennis Prager 9 to noon, Michael Medved, Noon to 3 pm Huge Hewitt, 3 to 6 pm and Dennis Miller 9 to midnight.
Now it is not a choirs, with everybody singing the same song. Each of them have their own parts to play. Beck Loves Paul on everything but his foreign policy. But he is not quite sure Paul would be an improvement over Obama. Prager takes a religious stance, you know No drug legalization and no legalized prostitution. Medved covers almost everything: He can’t win, he shouldn’t win, Paul is anti Israel, and an isolationist, and the last guy that should be trusted with Head of State status. I do not catch Hewitt much, but today he said he would vote for Obama over Paul. Hewitt must not on the Hate Obama mailing list. The COOL Dennis Miller lauds Paul on many things, but is just not sure about his foreign policy.
My recommendation to Republicans is to find out more about Ron Paul. If you do you will vote for him in the Primary. For Paulistas, reread C4L Frank’s program and go to it. Conservatives should contact any anti-Paulist and tell them they are wrong, and withhold your support until they change their tune. And Libertarians, do what I am doing: register Republican, join Freedom Frank of C4L support Ron Paul with ever fiber of your being, and vote for him in the primary in June. And if he should get the Republican nomination continue to campaign for him. Join the “I hate Obama” transmission belt and forward all them “Anybody But Obama” e-mails.

Ron Paul is a disaster for Republicans and Democrats, but not for America's freedoms by Dave Duffy Backwoods Home (12/29/11)
Old guard Democrats [as we all expect] are scared stiff of Ron Paul. Strangely Paul is terrifying to the old guard of the Republican Party. With Paul we get an end the War On Drugs, thereby ending the drug cartels, emptying our prisons of marijuana users, and undercutting the corruption of our police, judiciary, and political system that attends the drug war.

WordViews by Walt Clark
hazmat \HAZ-mat\ noun: a material (flammable or poisonous) that would be a danger to life or to the environment if released without precautions, as in “the hazmat database gave directions for cleanup.”
Synonyms:
There aren’t any which is why this word entered our language so quickly.
Word Wise:
Hazardous Materials wasn’t even a concept until the environmentalists created a whole industry around protecting us from ourselves. Society as a whole has gotten richer. That means two things: there’s more waste and less land. When land was cheap you merely abandoned it after pollution made it unusable. Those libertarians that come from a Republican heritage don’t like the environmentalist’s use of government to control society the way they see fit. Those libertarians with a liberal heritage point out that environmentalists have greatly influenced the private sector too. It’s not just because it’s against the law; we feel good about taking used oil back to the auto parts store for recycling. There’s a challenge here for all libertarians of both types with respect to hazmat. It is “failure of the commons” in reverse. All libertarians have at one time or another explained why socialism is like a pasture that farmers share. It is in there self-interest to exploit it rather than husband it. But what about hazmat and capitalism? If all the means of production and indeed all land was in private hands, it is in everyone’s self interest to dump their pollution into the air or into the ground water. To propose market processes for moving waste around assumes that everyone has bought into the idea that waste materials are not to be part of the commons. How do we libertarians propose stopping cheaters from being the most profitable? (Send your responses to the editor of this newsletter.)
Hazmat is an attributive noun. That means it is more often used as an adjective, as in the phrase hazmat team. Attributive nouns such as “leather” in the phrase leather jacket are so common we don’t even notice the ambiguity. Words that are modifiers need to be short since the main point is the noun. If “hazardous materials” would only be used as a noun we could spell it out that way forever. But as a modifier, there’s a natural urge to shorten it, or at least hyphenate the phrase to make sure it is recognized as a modifier. New words are often born as attributive nouns.

This is not the end it is The Beginning
Begin to share some of this information with others.

The media really controls the elections in the United States. The electorate is easily controlled by what they read and hear. The media had to go back nearly 20 years in time to find dirty laundry on RP, accusing him of being one of the worst things imaginable in American society: 'a racist'. The media wants Romney in the race since they haven't attacked him yet. Count on Romney as being the GOP candidate. So your next President will be either Obama or Romney. And since the media refuses to air dirty laundry on Obama - I give it 4 to 1 odds that Obama is reelected despite his broken promises and extremely incompetent showing for the last 3 years. Forget about anyone in a third party even having a chance at being President. For all intents and purposes - third parties have been systematically excluded as contenders by our current one-party system. Yes, I said 'one-party system', since that's exactly what it is. RP has no chance whatsoever of being our next President. The media has already depicted him as being some sort of 'kook'. He's done and ready for retirement. Now his son can follow in dad's footsteps and become a well-paid whipping boy.

RE: Personal Views (on Obama) by McGlawn.

It never ceases to amaze me when people attempt to differentiate Obama from George W. Bush. Once you analyze their records both are practically indistinquishable from one another politically.

Like Bush - Obama implemented stimulus plans costing taxpayers trillions of dollars mostly to save the Too Big To Fail (TBTF) banks. Main Street continues to suffer.

Like Bush - Obama invaded a sovereign nation (Libya) in violation of the War Powers Act of 1973 which resulted in the assassination of that sovereign nation's leader and regime change.

Like Bush - Obama promoted the Patriot Act by extending it indefintely.

Like Bush - Obama extended tax cuts for the richest 2% of Americans who have seen their incomes GROW for the last 5 years during the economic malaise while ordinary Americans have seen their nets worths drop significantly.

Like Bush - Obama's campaign was largely funded by the TBTF banks. His biggest donor was Goldman Sachs that contributed just short of $1M for his campaign.

Like Bush - Obama has eroded transparency in government during his 3 years in office. He has dismantled many of the provisions in the Freedom of Information Act making is MUCH HARDER for citizens and the media to access government information that has been readily available in the past.

Like Bush - Obama has not prosecuted even one of the main banker players who brought down the global economy via financial fraud or laundered billions of illicit proceeds for the international drug cartels.

Like Bush - Obama continues to destroy middle class America as more and more Americans are becoming impoverished as a result of the financial fraud perpetrated on Wall Street.

Like Bush - Obama approves laws that continue to erode our civil rights - like the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) - wherein US citizens can be incarcerated without due process or legal representation. After signing this bill into law Obama made an assinine comment that he would not execute that portion of the law - but says nothing about the legal power that is now set into place for all future Presidents. Obama signed and approved NDAA. He is responsible for his actions.

It is my contention that Obama is a political clone of George W. Bush and lied to us in order to gain access to the White House.

If Obama is reelected it is the end of America as many of us have known it. As a lame duck President Obama would be the final nail in our nation's coffin.

Hello Guido,

Thank you for your comments. The point of my PersonalViews was not to denigrate either Obama or Bush. Neither were my choice for President. My purpose was to express my surprise to the choirs of Conservative “I Hate Obama” talk show Host that have for some reason turned their slings and arrows away from Obama toward Ron Paul. They seem to be more worried that Ron Paul might get the Republican nomination for President, than for Obama to be reelected. Huge Hewitt even said it. Something like he would vote for Obama over Ron Paul.

I am a Libertarian, but tomorrow I will register Republican and will campaign vigorously for Ron Paul. I try to save the following comment until after the Republican nomination is made. But I think Obama would be less destructive of our liberties than either Bachmann, Santorum or Romney. Gingrich and Perry have a track record of reducing government so I am not sure. But Bachmann, Santorum and Romney, are campaigning on more restrictions on your liberties. And all Republican Candidates with the exception of Ron Paul will do anything, pass any law, go back on any promise to get reelected.

I think the Obama years were less destructive of our liberties than they would have been with a McCain Administration. With McCain we would likely be at war with Iran and Libya, who can say?

Let me finish with this, Ron Paul is the only candidate that is proposing the DRASTIC cuts in spending and taxes necessary to avert the disaster that lies ahead. I urge you to be campaigning for Ron Paul, with bumper stickers, yard signs and passing out literature, writing support checks. Contact the Ron Paul Campaign Headquarters in your area and help Ron Paul Win,

Since most of this viewsletter was about Ron Paul - I assume I can post a comment about him without it getting deleted. But we shall see in this land of liberty!

Ron Paul came in third in the Iowa Caucus - 4 percentage points behind Romney and Santorum. If you noticed - the media did not target Romney or Santorum with negative news hits like the rest of the candidates. Hence, Romney and Santorum were the victors. Americans are superficial and only analyze the tip of the iceberg. Very few ponder what might be lurking underneath.

But I urge you not to take any of this too seriously. It matters not who is elected or how he gets to the White House. The nation will continue to move in the same direction. If that isn't clear to you under the Obama administration I can not help you.

Ron Paul will coast into retirement now. He has fulfilled his assigned mission. Now his son can ride on his coattails for another 25 years. That's the way it is.

Enjoy the entertainment.

A4 said...

Btw, I actually voted for Ron Paul as a write-in candidate in the 2008 election. I was skeptical about our electoral process and ways of governance back then - but pinched my nose and voted anyway. After watching Obama for the last 3 years I'm convinced it's a racket and will not even bother voting for elected offices anymore. It would be better to buy stock in Bank of America, JP Morgan or Goldman Sachs giving you the right to vote for their Board of Directors. That would give you a much louder voice in the governance of the nation IMHO.

Mr. McGlawn,

I read today that Mitt Romney's dad was born in Mexico and that he has cousins who still live there.

Perhaps that will be a catalyst to get you to abandon Ron Paul and join the Romney campaign.

Ron Paul doesn't have any mexicans in his family, does he???

I know how much you love Mexico.

Not a chance A4. Even though Immigration is one of the issues that Ron Paul dances around for fear that he will offend some of the 74% that wrongly think immigration is a drag on the economy, and causes unemployment among US born workers.

Even if Romney called for a open border... He is not going to do that, so why are we talking about it.

Ron Paul is the only candidate that flirts with the Idea of a sensible immigration policy.

Just so you know, even if illegal immigration was not a net gain for the US, I would still favor it. Because I know that illegals that have not had the brainwashing that US students get and would not come here unless they had a marketable skill.

Mr. McGlawn said:

"Because I know that illegals that have not had the brainwashing that US students get and would not come here unless they had a marketable skill"

You must be joking. Exactly how many landscapers and janitors do we need in America? And how much skill does it take to cut grass or dig ditches or scrub toilets? For every job they steal that is one more American landscaper or janitor out of work. Your lack of patriotism is astounding.

chuckest said...

What I said A4 is that they wouldn't come here if they didn't have a marketable skill. As for my Patriotism, Cato does not agree with you about illegals taking American's jobs see the Liberty ViewsLetter posted later today.

"As for my Patriotism, Cato does not agree with you about illegals taking American's jobs see the Liberty ViewsLetter posted later today"

Complete counterintuitive BS.

When an illegal unlawfully enters the United States and takes a construction job, a janitorial job, a landscaping job or a factory job he is STEALING a job from an American citizen.

Any rationale that claims the illegal is NOT stealing a job from an American citizen is deceitful and dishonest.

chuckest said...

Hello A4,
You said, "Complete counterintuitive BS. When an illegal unlawfully enters the United States and takes a construction job, a janitorial job, a landscaping job or a factory job he is STEALING a job from an American citizen."

Daniel Griswald of the CATO institute disagrees with you. He said, “Immigrants stimulate job creation for natives by promoting investment, creating new products and services, and increasing demand for housing and other goods". Then he went on to quote the, "Enterprise Institute study by Madeline Zavodny finds that an increase in visas for both high-skilled and less-skilled foreign-born workers actually creates a net increase in jobs for native-born workers."

A4, policy decisions are not made by intuition. Humanity’s greatest advances come when a more studied thinking overturned intuition as the criteria for policy decisions. And at each of these junctures you will find conservatives fighting progress with the same, tired old clichés I hear from you.

It is your kind of thinking that passed the Smoot Hawley Tariff in the 1930s. The law turned a bad depression into the GREAT Depression.

A reading of The Law by Fredrick Bastiat is in order. Google The Petition of the Candlemakers. Google, What is seen and what is not seen.
Do a little advanced thinking. If a immigrant saves a homeowner $50.00 dollars per month on his gardening bill, and he does it for ten homeowners per day, for five days a week there are fifty homeowners that now have collectively $2,500.00 to spend on something else. Multiply that by just 100 immigrants and there is $250,000.00 out in the marketplace creating new jobs.

Anonymous said...

Mr. McGlawn,

Promoting illegal immigration as a 'job creator' is as absurd as making a claim that robbing banks is an honorable practice because it creates more jobs in the security field.

The fuzzy logic used by illegal alien sympathizers is absolutely preposterous!

chuckest said...

A4 said, Promoting illegal immigration as a 'job creator' is as absurd."

I stand by my description of job creation when just 100 immigrants create $250,000 worth of wealth contributes to job creation.

But it is not just me. It is all of those advanced degreed economist that just keep saying it.

But you are right it is as counter intuitive as the earth orbits the Sun. Go figure.

Anonymous said...

"I stand by my description of job creation when just 100 immigrants create $250,000 worth of wealth contributes to job creation"

You can claim that the world is flat - but you and your chosen experts need to prove it - with hard, cold NUMBERS. But you can't. SHOW ME THE MATH.

I showed you the math from the FAIR data that PROVED we, as a nation, spend in excess of $113B on social services for illegal invaders and in excess of $20B right here in California. And you failed to even comment on that FACTUAL cost analysis that was derived from Fed and State government PUBLIC DATA!!!!

chuckest said...

You mean to tell me, The world is round? That does seem counter intuitive.

100 immigrants saving 500 homeowners $50.00 per month creates an extra $250,000 spending power every month or Three million dollars per year. 100,000 immigrants saving 500,000 homeowners $50.00 per month creates an extra $250,000,000 spending power every month or Three Billion dollars per year.

And you have FAIR. I have quoted seven studies, most of which show the numbers. But you haven't checked the their numbers, because you have drank the Kool-aid and you have FAIR.

Did you google the petition of the candle makers? NAAA you have FAIR. Have you read, "What is Seen and What Is Not Seen"? Why bother, you have FAIR.

Did you see the numbers and the graphs in "Three Myths About Immigration"? Why should you, you have FAIR.

You would not believe the truth if you saw it. Because you have FAIR.

You dismiss as, "deceitful and dishonest" the CATO Institute, The Reason Foundation, the American Enterprise Institute Two Federal Reserve Studies, Advanced degreed economist and University Professors all as paid hacks, But I am supposed to accept FAIR as Gospel.

I looked into the other side, (you haven't) I discovered that almost every anti illegal immigration organization on the internet is quoting some part of the FAIR Study.

I do know this, you do not have the right to tell me with whom I can associate. A thousand of you combined have no right to tell me to whom I can rent a room. One Million of you in concert have no right to tell me to whom I can hire. That is, without ignoring the Philosophy of Liberty, the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.

Is stopping them Mexicans that important?

And you have to right to tell us that we must pay the bills accumulated by illegal indigent foreigners who unlawfully enter our nation while you nonchalantly wave them in.

Well A4, it seems as if someone has that power, because you and I are paying for some social services that are used by so called illegal immigrants.

Perhaps we should take away the power of the Federal government to provide social services, that may send the least productive immigrants home. It would also mean those that stay are here looking for an opportunity to provide products and services to you and me at lower prices.

While we are at it lets restore the prohibition of Federal control over immigration. Thus restoring the right of individual States to set their own immigration program.

If we did that then dumb guys like me, or dumb guys like you would learn the value or cost of their respective immigration policies on consumers and tax payers.

But you are prevented from learning those lessons when the courts come in and removes the most destructive elements of the State Law. Perhaps that is the way the Federal Government maintains its control over the States.

Oh, I get it now. You are not for open borders. You want restricted access only for those who provide our country with value. We can do with our current immigration system that SCREENS foreigners and provides authorization before they cross the border. So obviously you are not in favor of free education, free healthcare and free access to welfare for illegal invaders. Why didn't you say that from the start? You are actually just like me. You want our current immigration laws enforced and our current LEGAL immigration system to operate by design. Thanks for the clarification.

"While we are at it lets restore the prohibition of Federal control over immigration"

Better yet, why don't we just restore democracy so that our elected representative carry out the will of the people. Isn't that what you libertarians promote? And since 74% of us want rule of law restored how about starting there?

A4 said, You want restricted access only for those who provide our country with value.

Any one that is providing others with value are compensated for their product or service and will not need a government forced transfers of wealth.

So obviously you are not in favor of free education, free healthcare and free access to welfare for illegal invaders.

First of all there is no such thing as free education, free healthcare and free access to welfare. Someone has to pay for pay for those services.

Additionally I am not for, free education, free healthcare and free access to welfare for anyone.

A4 said, You want our current immigration laws enforced and our current LEGAL immigration system to operate by design.”

A4, the Soviet Union operated by design, and they are no more. Cuba works by design. The design is so flawed, and poverty so crushing the Cuban Government has abandoned the “design”. They have adopted a plank of freedom by giving farmers a plot of ground to farm in order to prevent mass starvation. North Korea operates by design. Compare that to South Korea. And you want the US to work by design, and have authorizers. Sounds like South Korea to me.

No comment there?

Where is your Rule of Law? The federal Government was granted no powers over immigration.

A4 said, “Better yet, why don't we just restore democracy so that our elected representative carry out the will of the people.”

I hope it does not come as a surprise to you, but our Constitution did not create a democracy. In fact it was crafted for the express purpose of preventing democracy. Because, you see the founding father knew that democracy could be easily converted into mobocracy and 74% would be able to vote away the right of the 26% as you would do if you had the power.

I have a brother that is in your camp. He has a solution to the immigration problem . He says forget the fence, just build a gun tower every 200 yards with a marksman and a high powered rifle. The only instruction is that you shoot them before they cross the border and just leave the dead bodies as a reminder to the next trespasser. And since 74% of us want rule of law restored how about starting there?

Bullshit. There are millions of indigent illegal invaders who work for minimum wage without benefits and could not survive unless they lived a dozen to a home, used food banks for their nourishment, used our emergency rooms as their doctor's office and used our schools for their education - all compliments of the taxpayer. You think they cover the cost of those services with taxes paid on their minimum wage jobs??? Most don't even pay income taxes - according to our Federal government data.

"Additionally I am not for, free education, free healthcare and free access to welfare for anyone"

Then you should oppose illegal immigration until we no longer provide provide those services to the illegal invaders. Again, you put the cart before the horse. You need to stop free services to illegal invaders FIRST and then focus on immigration. When you encourage illegal immigration while the government gives away taxpayer funded services ($113B worth in 2010) - YOU are part of the problem.

"Because, you see the founding father knew that democracy could be easily converted into mobocracy and 74% would be able to vote away the right of the 26% as you would do if you had the power"

Bullshit. The founding fathers supported rule of law and the nation's obligation to protect it's borders. That's all the 74% are asking for. That's not mob rule. That's simply asking for what is allegedly guaranteed by our Constitution. Stop distorting the issue.
